Meet Jonathan Garrett

MI Water Operator LLC is owned and operated by Jonathan Garrett, a lifelong resident of Southwest Michigan with over 16 years of experience in his chosen specialty– evaluating residential onsite water well and wastewater disposal systems, primarily for real estate transaction purposes. He is a state of Michigan certified drinking water operator and passed his national wastewater inspection certification in Colorado. He started working in a testing laboratory setting, where – at the time of certification – he became the youngest state certified milk analyst in Michigan at 16 years old. After spending years working within the laboratory setting doing bench work testing water, dairy, and food products, he then transitioned into field and compliance work, consulting, sampling, testing, and inspecting on and for public water supplies, manufacturing plants, food processing plants, dairy farms, fruit farms, and of course water wells and wastewater disposal systems for both residential and commercial real estate transactions. Over the intervening years between bench work at the lab and field work, he fell into predominately performing evaluations of water systems for real estate transactions across Southwest Michigan, where he developed an enjoyment for the niche job that it is and ultimately decided to specialize in it and put his focus there full time.
